Ginger at Yoo's University Plus Move to Disbar Torture Lawyers

April 19 &mdash The Student Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild at Chapman University invited Ann Fagan Ginger to join in a discussion about the Torture Memos with one of their Law School professors, and with John Yoo, teaching there this year. Ginger agreed and went. Yoo did, then did not. The audience of 65 did follow Ginger's suggestion that they pass a motion that Yoo should be discharged by University of California and Chapman U.; that Yoo should be disbarred, and should be investigated and prosecuted by the U.S. for crimes against humanity -- similar to the motion passed by Berkeley City Council.

May 19 &mdash Fifty-four organizations filed disciplinary complaints with state bar licensing boards against twelve attorneys for advocating the torture of detainees during the Bush Administration. The 500 pages of supporting exhibits were filed against John Ashcroft, Alberto Gonzales, John Yoo, Jay Bybee, Stephen Bradbury, David Addington, Michael Chertoff, Timothy Flanigan, Michael Mukasey, Michael Haynes, Alice Fisher, and Douglas Feith with the state bars of District of Columbia, New York, California, Texas and Pennsylvania.

The California Democratic Party Convention passed a resolution calling for the impeachment of 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Jay Bybee, who signed the Torture Memo of Aug. 1, 2002. See DisbarTortureLawyers.com
